Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Launches the Fifth Edition of the Emirates Energy Award 2025 in Istanbul
The launch of the “Emirates Energy Award” brought together leading officials and experts from the energy sector in Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates. At the event, where information about the various categories and objectives of the competition was given, all institutions and companies in Türkiye with innovative projects to combat climate change were invited to apply to the competition.
The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy announced the launch of the fifth edition of the Emirates Energy Award 2025 under the theme “Advancing Carbon Neutrality” in Türkiye. This announcement was made during a press conference held at the St. Regis Hotel in Istanbul.
The event brought together a group of senior officials and experts from the energy sector in Türkiye and the UAE to discuss the strategic goals of the award and its role in promoting renewable energy use and energy efficiency in the region. On this occasion, a shared vision was presented to expand innovation and public-private sector partnerships in the energy field.

Ahmad Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy and Vice-Chairman of the Emirates Energy Award Executive Committee, said: “We are delighted to launch the fifth edition of the Emirates Energy Award in Türkiye, a leading country in renewable energy and green technology in the region. This event, which we organized with the participation of umbrella organizations representing the sector and universities, reflects our commitment to strengthen strategic partnerships that contribute to sustainable development goals.”
Türkiye offers significant opportunities in renewable energy
Türkiye boasts abundant resources in renewable energy with ambitious plans to expand its usage. A recent study indicated that the country could become one of the leading forces in renewable energy production in the Middle East, with the potential to generate a surplus of electricity from clean sources. Data reveals that renewable energy accounted for 63.6% of Türkiye's total generation rates in March 2024, compared to 51.3% in March 2023*.
“The award aims to highlight best practices and innovations in the energy sector in Türkiye, encouraging institutions to present outstanding projects that address environmental challenges and achieve sustainable development,” noted Al Muhairbi.
Recognizes energy efficiency and environmental projects
The Emirates Energy Award 2023 – 2025 aims to recognize efforts in energy efficiency and innovative environmental projects. The award serves as a global platform for companies and individuals to showcase their achievements in energy management and conservation. It also focuses on raising public awareness of the importance of sustainability and environmental preservation.
During the event, information about the award's various categories and objectives was presented, offering Turkish institutions the opportunity to participate and compete for awards in renewable energy and energy efficiency fields.
An important step towards strengthening regional and international cooperation
In closing, H.E. Al Muhairbi expressed gratitude to Tamimi Consulting for their productive collaboration for organizing the launch event and emphasized that the award is a significant step toward strengthening regional and international cooperation in sustainable energy. He affirmed the importance of leveraging successful experiences in both countries to enhance environmental performance and achieve carbon neutrality goals.
The event also invited all interested Turkish institutions and companies to apply for the Emirates Energy Award and contribute their innovative projects to tackle climate change challenges.
